More than 20 years after the release of the 2003 hit Freaky Friday, a sequel – titled Freakier Friday – is officially on the way!
And yes, both Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan are returning to reprise their iconic roles as Tess and Anna Coleman.

What is the plot of Freakier Friday?
Set years after the events of the original film, the sequel follows Anna, who is now a mother to a daughter named Harper and a soon-to-be stepdaughter named Lily.
Who switches bodies in Freakier Friday?
As Anna and Tess adjust to the complexities of their growing, blended family, another body swap occurs – this time involving not just Tess and Anna, but also Harper and Lily.
If you thought two people switching lives was chaotic, imagine four.
Who’s returning for the sequel?
As aforementioned, Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan will return as Tess and Anna, respectively.

Several other cast members from the original film are also set to reprise their roles, including Rosalind Chao, Chad Michael Murray, Mark Harmon, Ryan Malgarini, Christina Vidal Mitchell, Haley Hudson, Stephen Tobolowsky, and Lucille Soong.
New additions to the cast include Julia Butters, Sophia Hammons, Manny Jacinto, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Vanessa Bayer, and Elaine Hendrix – who previously starred alongside Lindsay in The Parent Trap.
Are Anna and Jake married in Freakier Friday?
While Chad Michael Murray is set to appear in the sequel, his character Jake is not married to Lindsay’s character Anna.
Instead, Anna is engaged to a new character, Eric, played by Manny Jacinto of The Good Place fame.
