Can you believe it’s been 25 years since we first set foot in Stars Hollow?
To celebrate the milestone, a brand-new Gilmore Girls documentary is officially in the works.
Ink on Paper Studios has announced that Searching for Stars Hollow will offer fans “a transformative look at the history of a television show and its characters, filled with commentary, criticism, and pop culture scholarship, creating the definitive portrait of one of the most beloved television series of all time.”
In honour of the show’s 25th anniversary, the beloved Stars Hollow crew is set to return, giving fans a nostalgic deep dive into a show that we’ve loved since 2000.

What is the new Gilmore Girls documentary about?
A new documentary is in the works in celebration of Gilmore Girls‘ 25th anniversary.
Searching for Stars Hollow is currently in production and will be directed by Meghna Balakumar and Kevin Konrad Hanna.
The film will dive into the show’s creation and will feature some interviews from some of our favourite cast members, including Kelly Bishop (Emily Gilmore), Jared Padalecki (Dean Forester), Chad Michael Murray (Tristin Dugray), Keiko Agena (Lane Kim), and others

When is the Gilmore Girls documentary coming out?
The documentary is set to debut in October 2025.
The exact date is yet to be confirmed but keep an eye out here for any further details!
Who will star in the Gilmore Girls documentary?
While the documentary promises to offer fans an amazing tribute to the beloved series, it’s worth noting that the lead actresses Lauren Graham (Lorelai Gilmore) and Alexis Bledel (Rory Gilmore) have not been confirmed yet.
So far the confirmed cast that will feature are, Kelly Bishop (Emily Gilmore), Jared Padalecki (Dean Forester), Chad Michael Murray (Tristan Dugray) and Keiko Agena (Lane Kim).
The documentary will also include interviews from director Jamie Babbit, writer Stan Zimmerman, and the hosts of the Gilmore Guys podcast.
