After teasing fans with a nostalgic Instagram post, Drake has now confirmed he will be making his long-awaited return to Australia next year.
“I’m coming back to Australia,” he told Canadian online streamer xQc on November 25, 2024. “February 9th for anybody that’s watching from Australia.”
Aussie fans have been waiting for confirmation after the rapper posted to his Instagram on November 12, 2024, a throwback snap outside the Sydney Opera House to his story alongside the caption, “It’s been like 7 years,” before later sharing a series of side-eye emojis next to an Australian flag.
Drake’s last tour Down Under was in 2017 and since then, he has confined his tours largely to the Northern Hemisphere, which has left rap fans in Australia eagerly counting down the days until his next world tour announcement.
Now the wait is over with the 38-year-old Grammy winner confirming that the tour will run from February 9 to March. While we eagerly await for tickets to go on sale, here’s what we know so far.
Is Drake coming to Australia?
Yes, Drake can’t stay away any longer. During a livestream on Instagram with Canadian online streamer xQc, he dropped the news he was heading Down Under in 2025, kicking things off on February 9. “Funny enough, it’s actually called the Anita Max Wynn Tour,” he said.
Asked why it’s has taken him so long to return, Drake replied: “I don’t know, that makes me sound kinda crazy. I love it down there.”
When is Drake coming to Australia?
Just days after his announcement, official tour details for Drake’s tour were released, with tour dates confirmed across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Auckland in February 2025.
