Zayn Malik has announced that he’s postponing his upcoming tour following the tragic death of his friend and former One Direction bandmate, Liam Payne. The US leg of the tour was set to kick off on October 23 with a performance in San Francisco.
Zayn shared the news with fans via social media, saying, “Given the heartbreaking loss experienced this week, I’ve decided to postpone the US leg of the Stairway to the Sky Tour.”
He reassured ticket holders that no further action would be required, and the shows are being rescheduled for January. “I’ll share the new dates in the next few days, and your tickets will remain valid. Love you all and thank you for your understanding.”

Since splitting from One Direction in 2015, Zayn has released four studio albums but has never toured on his own – until now. In September 2024, he announced he was returning to the stage, embarking on his first solo tour, Stairway to the Sky.

While the tour was initially scheduled to kick off on October 23, Zayn announced that he would be rescheduling the US dates following the sudden passing of his former One Direction bandmate Liam Payne, who he described as a “brother”.
“I lost a brother when you left us and can’t explain to you what I’d give to just give you a hug one last time and say goodbye to you properly and tell you that I loved and respected you dearly,” he wrote.
In a statement on Instagram, Zayn said the “heartbreaking loss experienced this week” had forced him to postpone the US leg of the Stairway to the Sky Tour. The dates are being rescheduled to January and I’ll post them as soon as it’s all set in the next few days.”
The singer also shared that tickets to the following dates will still remain valid for the rescheduled tour:

- October 27, 2024: Los Angeles, California
- October 28, 2024: Los Angeles, California
- October 30, 2024: Washington, D.C.
