And users are furious.

Netflix’s latest move has sparked outrage.

This morning, the streaming giant announced it is raising its annual subscription fees across all tiers.

While a Netflix spokesperson confirmed with WHO that the price hike will not hit Australian subscriptions, for all 58 million users in the United States, the service’s most popular plan, which offers HD streaming on various devices simultaneously, will increase from $US11 a month to $US13. The basic plan, which doesn’t include HD streaming, will raise from $US8 to $US9.

Australians will not see their subscription prices increase.

The price adjustments come after Netflix has invested billions of dollars towards its original content, including producing hit series like ‘Stranger Things’, ‘House of Cards’, and ‘Orange is the New Black’.

Their latest decision marks the biggest price adjustment since launching the service in 2007.

“We change pricing from time to time as we continue investing in great entertainment and improving the overall Netflix experience,” Netflix said in a statement.

While current members will see the price change in the coming months, new members will be charged with the new prices immediately.

Since the news broke, users have taken to Twitter to express their disappointment.
