One week on since Richie Strahan dumped her on national TV, heartbroken WA real estate agent Nikki Gogan tells WHO in an exclusive interview that “I still don’t think I’m over it.” As she watched the Sept. 15 season finale in a Sydney hotel room with her sister Dani, “I had all the emotions. The tears were flowing. I can laugh about it as well, but it’s still raw.”
Melbourne single mum Alex Nation may have won Strahan, but Gogan, it seems, won the nation’s hearts. Gogan tells WHO she kept her phone off the night the finale aired, but woke up to reams of texts and messages of support on her social media feed. “It was crazy, the amount of people trying to contact me. I feel like I’m getting a massive hug from Australia.”
Gogan has yet to begin dating again since returning home to Northam, WA (“You don’t date in Northam!”), and says she is “not in the right state of heart or mind” to consider starring in a future season of The Bachelorette.
For now, she continues to work on mending her “shattered” heart, and finds comfort in telling herself that a lifetime with “my Richie” was simply not meant to be. “I wanted to do forever with this guy,” admits Gogan. “So he must have something out of this world with [Alex]. I need them to work.”
