SPOILER ALERT: Nina Dobrev is returning to The Vampire Diaries

Nina Dobrev has just revealed that she is coming back to the hit series, The Vampire Diaries for the show’s final season, after her upsetting departure in season 6.

She confirmed the news in an Instagram post captioned, “I know it’s Thursday, but this is not a TBT. #BackOnSet #TVDForever.”

Dobrev, who played Elena Gilbert in the show from 2009 – 2016 is definitely featuring in the final episode, but is yet to confirm any other appearances in season 8.

Elena was the love interest of both Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley) and Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerholder), who she dated in real life from 2010 to 2013.
