As the sixth season of Married At First Sight airs in the UK, our British pals are feeling all the same feelings we did when the show originally aired in 2019. But one bride has a message for all her fans and haters.

Single mum Ning Surasiang was partnered with groom Mark Scrivens for the controversial relationship experiment, but their wedding wasn’t exactly a super romantic affair.

There was awkwardness, lack of chemistry and of course Ning’s iconic line: “I’m just here for the food and drink.”

Taking to Instagram, Ning shared a still image of her and Mark’s TV nuptials with a typed caption across it of her food and drink comment.

“Airing in the UK! Still stand by this quote 🤣 thanks for all the beautiful and not so beautiful messages 😘,” she captioned the post, followed by the hashtags “#hatersgonnahate #imjusthereforthefood #wildride.”

Ning’s post was inundated with positive comments from fans.

“You were the highlight of the season! They’ll come around, you just got better and better and more relatable as the show went on,” one noted.

“Ulgh i actually loved you from the beginning,” remarked another.

However even when she was faced with trolling comments, the former MAFS bride didn’t hold back.

When one person commented: “Ning you were painful to watch .. that’s why he dumped you,” Ning swiftly replied: “Well I’m not following you, you are following me? 🤷🏽‍♀️ Hope I’m entertaining enough.”

Of course we in Australia know that Ning and Mark’s relationship (like many MAFS pairings) didn’t end up going the distance.

Ning admitted that she was “blindsided” by Mark’s decision to end their relationship and later told Hit90.9 Sea FM’s Heather, Dan & Ben that she would discourage anyone from applying for the show.

“I would just say run, just run, don’t do it,” she told the radio hosts.

“Why do it? Come to my place instead and I’ll cook you a nice dinner and have a nice glass of wine.”

When she was then asked why she wouldn’t recommend the dating experiment, Ning explained: “You have to dig so deep in the experiment and who wants to be vulnerable? I can’t do it, you’ve got to be a little bit guarded.”

Despite her romance with Mark being unsuccessful, Ning has found love with her new boyfriend, Kane Micallef.

The couple met on Tinder and when the mum-of-three first introduced Kane to her followers, many were quick to share their own online dating love stories.

“Tinder gets a bad wrap but it’s the best site for meeting ppl a lot of trash and a lot of treasure too,” one follower noted.

“Tinder is 🔥 I met my husband on there 6 years ago. Married 3 years, 2 kids and a business,” remarked another.

Mark meanwhile is dating The Block‘s Bianca Chatfield and the pair are living together in Melbourne.

“Obviously people talk about [MAFS] all the time – when I started to tell people about Mark they’d say ‘Oh he’s the one with the one blue cup’ and it was all true,” Bianca revealed to WHO in August last year.
