Madonna has clearly got son Rocco and daughter Lourdes back into the groove of being one big happy family.
On Thursday night the singer and her 15-year-old son enjoyed a dinner date at The Chiltern Firehouse in London – with Madonna posting a cute Instagram of Rocco and his big sister shortly afterwards.
Madonna, dressed all in black, couldn’t stop smiling as she left the venue later on the evening while Rocco ran ahead to their waiting car.
The London reunion is the latest indication that Madonna and her son have patched up their relationship following months of acrimony and legal proceedings on both sides of the Atlantic.
Earlier this month the teen returned to his mother’s Manhattan home for the first time since late 2015, when he opted to stay with dad Guy Ritchie in England.
This came on the heels of a determined effort from Madonna to build bridges after her Rebel Heart tour wrapped in March, by flying to London to talk with Rocco at Ritchie’s London home.
Mum and son also got to know each other in more relaxed surroundings, heading to the movies in Notting Hill for a screening of Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice, and catching a performance of cult West End theater hit You Me Bum Bum Train. Madonna even allowed Rocco to invite several pals to her London home for a small party.
Shortly afterwards the High Court in London agreed that Madonna’s legal proceedings in the UK could be withdrawn.
“As I observed during the course of the hearing, summer does not last forever,” High Court Judge Alistair MacDonald wrote in his ruling. “The boy very quickly becomes the man. It would be a very great tragedy for Rocco if any more of the precious and fast receding days of his childhood were to be taken up by this dispute. Far better for each of his parents to spend that time enjoying, in turn, the company of the mature, articulate and reflective young man who is their son and who is a very great credit to them both.”
While Madonna and Ritchie were scheduled to appear in a NY court in early June to finalize Rocco’s living arrangements, it would seem that her US litigation has also now been disposed, motion pending by the New York State Supreme Court.
