If you ask us, one of the most iconic moments in the Australian pop culture canon was Oprah’s 2010 tour.
For the uninitiated, the tour saw the legendary television host and personality visit Oz and travel around, meeting fans, wearing flowing Camilla caftans and, most famously, attending backyard BBQs where she enjoyed a tinnie of VB.
It’s been over a decade since that milestone moment, and next week, the 71-year-old multi-hyphenate finally returns to Australia.
Over the course of a week, she’ll tour the country for a series of intimate “in conversation” events hosted by Aussie journalist Melissa Doyle.
“Can’t wait to be back in Australia and New Zealand for the first time in 10 years!” she wrote in an announcement post on Instagram.
“Bring your friends, cousins, siblings — everybody!”
The events are set to see Oprah talk candidly about her career, “the power of authenticity and necessity of resilience”. No doubt, she’ll share a few special anecdotes and special gems that only Oprah could come up with.
