After making her breakthrough rise to fame following her performance as Maria in Steven Spielberg’s 2021 film adaption of West Side Story, Rachel Zegler has quickly made her name as one of Hollywood’s most promising up-and-coming talents.
While the 22-year-old may have found fame following West Side Story, she also found love in the form of her co-star Josh Andrés Rivera.

Since meeting on set in 2021, the young couple have continued to conquer the world of acting together, with the pair now also starring together in the upcoming Hunger Games prequel The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes.
To celebrate the release of Rachel and Josh’s second film together, we look back on their heartwarming Hollywood romance.
Who is Rachel Zegler dating?
Rachel Zegler is currently in a relationship with actor Josh Andrés Rivera.
The couple first met in mid-2019 after they were both cast in the film adaptation of West Side Story, with Josh starring as Chino, who was initially set up with Rachel’s character Maria before she begins her romance with Tony.
During their early relationship, Josh and Rachel kept their relationship relatively private, however, a tweet by Rachel shortly after Valentine’s Day in 2021 sent the rumour mill into overdrive, with Rachel simply tweeting ” I love josh andres rivera.”
Throughout the West Side Story press tour, Rachel shared several affectionate snaps of the couple, however, they did not officially confirm their romance publicly until Valentine’s Day 2022, with Rachel sharing a photo of the pair out for dinner with the caption, “committing valen-crimes.”
Rachel also shared an Instagram story on the day further confirming their romance, writing, “happy love day from me n mine.”
After being awarded Best Actress at the National Board of Review Gala in March 2022, Rachel shared a copy of her acceptance speech to Twitter, with fans quickly noticing the Snow White star’s adorable shoutout to her new beau.
“I wish to extend my thanks to the love of my life, who I was blessed enough to meet on the set of [West Side Story] many moons ago. Thank you for holding my hand in my dreams and in my reality. I love doing life with you.”
After almost one year together, Rachel opened up on how her romance with Josh helped her navigate the world of fame at a young age.
“There’s always this deep understanding of what I go through… He’s able to bring me back to earth and tell me when it really doesn’t matter,” she told Elle.
“Because he’s removed from it to a certain degree, he’s about just to snap me out of it… and remind me to be present and to not focus on the opinions of 3,000 faceless strangers on the internet.”
Three years after the couple first met on set, the pair were once again working together on a major motion picture, with both Rachel and Josh being cast in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes.
“Never been prouder of someone in my life lemme tell you,” Rachel shared alongside Josh’s casting announcement, adding “always and forever proud of my Joshua.”
After celebrating their two-year anniversary in October 2023, the couple opened up on how their romance has helped them on set of The Hunger Games prequel.
“Having a familiar face on any set, I think any young actor can attest, is the biggest form of comfort,” Rachel told People.
“As [Josh’s] girlfriend, his friend, and his co-worker, it’s amazing to see the trajectory of his career and to witness his rise to stardom. I love him so much.”
Josh echoed a similar sentiment, telling People, “It really was a great source of comfort for me to have her with me so far away from home. We were in a different country. We got to explore that country together. It was absolutely wonderful. I feel very fortunate.”
