After kick-starting the careers of some of Australia’s biggest stars, such as Guy Sebastian, Jessica Mauboy, Casey Donovan, Stan Walker, and Ricki-Lee, there’s no denying that the reality show has certainly unearthed its fair share of talent, and if the first teasers of the upcoming season are anything to go by, we’re in for some show-stopping performances!

Who are the judges of Australian Idol?
The 2025 judges panel will see the return of some long-standing judges and new faces.
Making her long-awaited return to the desk is OG judge and Australian music legend Marcia Hines, who previously starred alongside Mark Holden and Ian ‘Dicko’ Dickson from 2003-2009.
Also returning to the panel for a sixth season is radio presenter Kyle Sandilands. Speaking to Seven, The Kyle & Jackie O Show host revealed that the judges were on the hunt for the complete package.
“The ultimate performer is someone that you admire for their talent, and they’ve got a little swagger or a pizzazz about them that just makes them stand out from the crowd.”
Bringing a new generation of Aussie talent to the panel is multi-ARIA Award winner Amy Shark, who first made her appearance on the show in 2023.
Who is the host of Australian Idol 2025?
Former Australian Idol star Ricki-Lee Coulter and presenter Scott Tweedie will lead the contestants through the competition for 2025.
Returning to the screen three nights a week, Ricki-Lee wrote to Instagram, “Every day I have to pinch myself that I get to do what I do and meet the people I get to meet… hosting Australian Idol, the show that changed my life 20 years ago! And it’s so cool to me that I get to now be part of uncovering the next generation of amazing young Aussie talent!”
