Jamie Doran’s Bachelorette time is up

The so-called 'stage-five clinger' has left the building!

We have to admit, things are probably going to be a lot calmer around the Bachelorette mansion from here on in.

Why? Because this season’s stage-five-clinger Jamie Doran has been given the boot by Angie Kent.

WATCH: The first time we met Jamie was all so innocent…

Over the past two episodes, we watched in horror (slash amusement) as Jamie dug a hole so deep he had no chance of climbing out… and then proceeded to dig some more.

After telling Angie that frontrunner Carlin Sterritt was basically only in the mansion for fame, he set off a chain of events that saw the loss of dark horse (and firm Angie favourite) Ciarran Stott, and a whole lot of drama and sadness that no-one in the house needed or wanted.

And he wasn’t the least bit sorry about it.

“Jamie, you were obviously the catalyst of [Ciarran leaving],” said jokester Timm Hanly.

“Do you regret some of the things that you did, now that you see the outcomes and how much you watched the whole place fall apart?”

No, ’cause I told her the truth,” he replied.

I’m going to listen out and I’m gonna hear what blokes say and I’m gonna let her know.”

“Look, at the end of the day, for being so honest and open to her, I don’t regret any of my actions. She needed to hear about what happens behind closed doors in the mansion. And now we can move on and, hopefully, my single date comes soon.”

Um, is that crickets we can hear?

Or just the calming sound of tumbleweeds rolling in the wind?

Not only did Jamie not score a single date – at all during the whole series  – he also didn’t receive a rose, and was sent packing from the house, leaving just six boys fighting for Angie’s heart.

But being booted wasn’t about to deter Jamie from trying one last time to score the gal of his dreams!

As the pair headed to the care waiting to get Jamie the F out of there (well, that’s what Angie’s face seemed to be saying…), he whipped out a letter to read aloud to the blonde bombshell.

(Oh, and did we mention that, before the rose ceremony had even started, he’d asked her to go for a coffee after the show finished up? “No matter what happens tonight, like, I’d love to, like, catch up for a coffee or something, you know, like, one time in the future or…” AWKWARD.)

“Angie… ” he began his love note, while the leading lady looked unbelievably uncomfortable.

“I loved your vibrant energyyour positive outlook on life. And most importantly, how you’ve been willing to push yourself out of your comfort zone. Because I know it was your biggest fear… It’s been a privilege and an honour to just spend time with you here.”

And with that, the 39-year-old firefighter – who had sashayed into Angie’s life with a puppy on the red carpet on day one – was gone.

I thought I was gonna sweep her off her feet, hey,” he lamented as he drove away.

“I honestly thought I was gonna sweep her off her feet.”
