It’s clear Farmer Andrew and Claire found something special together. The couple, who found each other on the 2023 season of Farmer Wants a Wife Australia were so sure of their strong connection, that they left the show early.
In the months that followed, the pair kept fans up to date on life after the show, with Claire settling into farm life and even showing Andrew around her own old stomping grounds but two years later, are the fan favourite couple still together?
Are Farmer Andrew and Claire still together?
While fans were convinced that the couple’s romance would join the growing list of Farmer Wants a Wife marriages, Farner Andrew and Claire confirmed the news that they had called off their engagement, with both confirming their split in September 2024.
“One extraordinary woman captured my heart, and we decided to give it a shot,” Andrew wrote to Instagram, adding, “Despite all the love and effort we both gave, sometimes things just don’t work out. Living together brought its own challenges, and we realised our paths weren’t meant to stay intertwined.”
“It’s sad that our relationship ended, but I stand tall knowing we gave it our all. Though it didn’t lead us where we hoped, it helped us grow. It’s been a huge outlay of heart and soul.”
Inside Farmer Andrew and Claire’s relationship
Claire and Andrew were just one of the many successful couples in the 2023 season of Farmer Wants a Wife. For the first time ever, all five farmers found love.
After crossing paths on the show, the pair quickly hit it off, with the couple deciding to leave in the ninth episode of the season.
Following their early exit from the show, Andrew and Claire spoke with Woman’s Day about what was next. After some pondering the pair shared that they had decided to take it “one day at a time”
“We have a nice positive thing going here and it is good to finally get to show the world our happiness,” Claire said, before adding that the pair had already discussed having children.
“It would be nice to have twins first up and then see what would happen after that,” she continued.
“We’re approaching it with the mindset of, let’s enjoy one another first for a period of time and make memories of our own, and if things keep evolving in a positive manner, then that’ll come,” explained Andrew.
Over the following year, the couple kept fans up to date about their relationship, including news on their growing farm family.
In July 2023, Claire took to Instagram to share her adorable surprise gift from beau Andrew. “Guys meet Mowgli,” she wrote alongside a picture of a pug.
“@farmerandrewau picked him up for me today while I was at work…not sure he will make a good working dog but OMG my heat.”
The pair also shared titbits from their travel since finishing the show, and it was Claire’s post about their visit to Badger Island, that revealed what prompted her to apply for the show in the first place.
Claire shared a sweet pic of the couple in which she and Andrew were sporting matching hats.
An eagle-eyed fan commented on the photo, pointing out that the farmer was wearing a new hat – a very different look to the usual well-worn hat he was spotted wearing throughout the season.
“This is so funny,” replied Claire. “His hat is what made me apply for the show, I thought geeez that hat has a few stories to tell and this guy doesn’t care about fancy things.”
“His new hat will have even more stories to tell tho.”
A few weeks after celebrating their first anniversary, the couple announced that they were engaged.
Taking to Instagram, Claire shared a post showing off her ring – with the couple’s beloved horses in the background.
“I said YES to the love of my life 💍❤️,” she captioned the post at the time. “So absolutely grateful that I wake up to this life everyday. You are my best friend @farmerandrewau and my safe place, ILYSM Xx”
In June 2024, the bride-to-be shared a small glimpse into her wedding planning, revealing to fans she had travelled back to her hometown in Tasmania to visit family and pick her wedding dress.
Sharing a snap of herself holding a garment bag outside Honey Fawn boutique in Launceston, she added the hashtags ‘#ISaidYesToTheDress and #BridalEra.
However, just weeks later the bride-to-be took to Instagram to announce the couple’s wedding was cancelled, telling audiences it was due to “reasons out of our control.” Read what we know, here.
Over the following months, fans of the couple uncovered that Claire had listed her wedding dress on social media, leading many to believe that the pair had parted ways.
While they did not initially announce their split after cancelling their wedding, the couple later confirmed that they were no longer together in September 2024.
