The Love Island Australia 2024 drama has taken an unexpected turn, with former villa couple Mimi and Dylan confirming they’re giving their romance another shot! After both being eliminated from the show, Mimi and Dylan have been spending time together and exploring a rekindled connection that has fans talking.
Despite Mimi initially coupling up with Steph after her exit from the villa, it seems that her heart wasn’t fully moved on from Dylan, whom she had paired with early on in the season.
In an exclusive interview with 9Entertainment, Mimi shared that she and Dylan had a deep and emotional conversation after a night out, which reignited their connection.
“We were just talking – and then I just kissed him,” she said. “We learned that he can’t be emotional without physical, and I can’t be physical without emotional, so that’s kind of where that all worked out.”
Dylan also opened up about the renewed bond, revealing, “I saw a completely different side to Mimi that nobody else knows,” explaining that since then, the pair have been inseparable, spending time together and even staying at each other’s houses.
Although their relationship isn’t officially “exclusive” yet, Dylan’s response to whether they were exclusive hinted at a growing connection: “Something like that.”
Their relationship is blossoming outside of the villa, and while things may not have worked out between them during the show, both Mimi and Dylan feel that this new phase is a lot more natural. Dylan admitted, “I don’t think we would’ve worked during the show because we’re both very guarded people, and I don’t think either of us would let ourselves be that vulnerable on TV.”

While Sophie was initially upset after her breakup with Dylan, she’s handling the situation with maturity, acknowledging that she won’t stand in the way of the pair exploring their connection. “If something does blossom between Mimi and Dylan, I can’t hold it against anyone,” she shared with the publication. “I’d never ask somebody to choose between friendship and love.”
