Lauren Hall and Eliot might just be one of the most polarizing couples in this season of Married at First Sight. But with Eliot’s sky-high standards and Lauren’s outspoken personality, this couple is already giving fans a rollercoaster of emotions.

Who are Lauren and Eliot?

Lauren, 37, believes she was “born in the wrong era.” With her old-school romantic ideals, she’s happiest embracing her feminine side and fulfilling a traditional role. “My role is to serve my husband,” she boldly states. After six years of being single, she’s hoping the experts can find her the man who will take charge of the relationship and meet her high standards.

Eliot, 35, shares a similar outlook on love. A confident and blunt business owner, he wants a classy, authentic woman who fits into his vision of a traditional marriage. “I have the highest expectations,” he says. And he’s not afraid to walk away if things don’t feel right—“If I feel nothing on my wedding day, I’ll leave the experiment.”

It’s a risky pairing, but the experts believe that Lauren and Eliot’s shared values could be the key to their success.

What happened at Lauren and Eliot’s wedding?

Eliot made it clear he’d “run if [his bride] wasn’t up to his expectations,” but when Lauren arrived at the altar, she immediately caught his attention. “She looked breathtaking. I’m relieved,” he said.

Lauren was equally intrigued by her groom. “He’s good-looking, but I want to hear his vows and values,” she admitted. As they exchanged vows, the couple realized they were surprisingly aligned in their expectations for marriage. Their chemistry was evident as they walked down the aisle hand in hand, leaving both relieved and optimistic.

But their day wasn’t without drama and now, Lauren has revealed Eliot’s mum warned her on the wedding day that the match may be difficult.

“Even his mum said that he’s difficult, so I should’ve just listened to her and left the morning after,” Lauren told 9Entertainment following Eliot’s no-show at the first dinner party.

Did Lauren’s sister ruin the reception?

Lauren’s sister Tamara, who served as her maid of honour, brought an avalanche of chaos to the reception. From calling Lauren a “bridezilla” and “psycho” to fighting with the wait staff, Tamara left little room for the newlyweds to enjoy their big day.

Tamara even disrupted Lauren and Eliot’s first dance, calling her sister “frigid” before storming out of the venue. While Lauren described her sister’s behaviour as “unhinged,” Eliot was also left shaken by the chaos. “Traumatizing,” he said of his new sister-in-law’s behaviour.

Despite the turmoil, Lauren and Eliot managed to stay united, offering each other support and ending the night on a positive note.

The day after the episode aired, Tamara took to Instagram to shed light on her behaviour, telling fans it was “heavily edited.”

“I know how it looks,” she wrote. “I watched the same episode as everyone else, and without context, I totally get it. But there’s over 18 hours of footage you didn’t see. I’ll be sharing a tell-all soon, so stay tuned!

Are Lauren and Eliot still together?

While their shared traditional values suggest they could be a strong match, there are concerns about their long-term compatibility – and their honeymoon proved to be their undoing as Eliot showcased how uncompromising he could be.

The groom walked off the show in episode three after only two days with his bride. From the moment he and Lauren arrived at their honeymoon destination on K’Gari Island, cracks started to show.

Lauren hoped to wake up to a more open-minded husband, but Eliot’s stubborn attitude only intensified—going so far as to say he could teach the experts a thing or two rather than learn from them.

Their differences became even clearer over dinner when Eliot fixated on their supposed incompatibility, taking issue with everything from Lauren’s taste in handbags to her age. “You should be with someone in their 40s,” he told her bluntly, adding that he should be with someone younger. Lauren struggled to tell if he was joking, but it soon became clear he wasn’t.

The next morning, Eliot made an abrupt decision to leave the honeymoon early, citing his strict list of non-negotiables—including a younger partner, a shared love for exercise, and an aversion to anything he deemed “superficial.” Lauren was furious, calling him “the most inflexible person she’d ever met” and labelling his early departure a tantrum because he didn’t get what he wanted.

“I thought I’d be the difficult one,” she admitted, devastated that he had robbed her of an experience she truly wanted. In the end, Eliot walked away from his Honeymoon after just two days, telling producers, “It’s done.”

Who did Lauren previously date?

Since the debut of the season, Lauren has made her Instagram account private, which means fans can’t do too much digging into her past. However, internet sleuths did find an interesting photo on her sister Tamara’s Instagram account which showed Lauren and former MAFS star Jonothan McCullough.

According to the Daily Mail, the pair were dating for around three months before parting ways in January 2023.

Jono was paired with Lauren Dunn in the 2024 season of Married at First Sight, before moving on with fellow MAFS bride Ellie.
