Jayden Eynaud and Eden Harper may have been one of the strongest couples on this season of Married At First Sight Australia – but their relationship came to an end, just weeks after the season finished airing.
Are Jayden and Eden still together?
Eden made the heartbreaking announcement on Instagram in April, sharing with fans the relationship had come to an “unexpected” end.
“When I made the decision at Final Vows to be with Jayden, I really did that with long-term intentions,” she wrote.
“Jayden and I spent many months together after the experiment, during which Cub gained a dad and I gained a second family who I’m truly grateful for.
“I’m saddened to share that toward the end of the show airing, our relationship came to an unexpected end. The ‘reality’ is, the person I chose didn’t choose me.”
“Whilst I’m disappointed, I will never regret the experiment, the people I met, the lessons I learnt and the growth this process has had on me.”Thank you for supporting us and for also wishing for the same fairytale that I had hoped for.”
Shortly after Eden’s announcement, Jayden also took to Instagram to share his own post, writing:
“Sometimes in life, things don’t always go the way you had hoped for. After the experiment, Eden and I went back to the Gold Coast and continued to enjoy living our lives together and getting to know each other every day.
“However, unfortunately, our relationship ended not long before the end of the experiment airing. As sad as it is, I’m so glad I got to go through this with such an amazing woman and a beautiful son 🐶.
“You will both always have a second family on the Gold Coast ❤️.”
Are Eden and Jayden still friends?
In June, Eden shared a few more details about the couple’s split, confirming to Yahoo! Lifestyle that they were not in contact.
Reflecting on the relationship, Eden told the publication that she was “grateful” for her time on MAFS.
“It served its purpose and our ship’s sailed, that’s for sure,” she told the publication. “I just think that the disrespect I received afterwards, I couldn’t take someone back after that. Especially when he didn’t apologise.”
Are Jayden and Lauren now dating?
News of Jayden and Eden’s split didn’t come as a complete surprise to fans after Eden previously slammed her partner after footage emerged of him dancing with fellow MAFS bride Lauren.
Yahoo reported that Eden, Lauren and Jayden were all enjoying a night out together before Eden headed home.
“Jayden wasn’t talking to Eden at all which was very noticeable and made everyone feel uncomfortable, so she decided to go home when they went from one club to another,” a source told the publication. “At the next venue, Jayden and Lauren arrived arm in arm and were very close the whole night. She was all over him, but he was definitely enabling it.”
Eden spoke with the Daily Mail at the time, slamming the pair’s behaviour as “disrespectful.”
“I think both of their behaviour on that night was quite disrespectful of me,” she told the outlet. “It felt almost a little bit intentional from Lauren’s half to hurt my feelings, and maybe Jayden as well.” Labelling the behaviour as “inappropriate and a bit trashy,” she continued: “I feel a little bit embarrassed by it if I’m being completely honest. However, I think it’s more embarrassing for them than it is for me.”
Lauren has also spoken out about the “drama,” downplaying the footage and brushing off any romance rumours. “I’m definitely not making a move on Jayden. Not Jayden, the kid’s about six years younger than me, and he’s just, he’s not for me,” she said. “And he’s with Eden, apparently.”

MAFS co-stars react to split
Fellow MAFS contestant Lucinda Light admitted she felt “disappointed” by Eden and Jayden’s split in an interview with Digital Spy.
When asked which couple’s split shocked or saddened her she replied: “Probably lovely Jayden and Eden.”
“I felt really disappointed by their split as Eden really fell genuinely head over heels for Jayden.”
“Things went pretty south after the show and particularly after the reunion, so that was a bit disappointing.”
Lucinda went on to shed some light as to why it didn’t work out between the pair, adding: “I just think he hasn’t the time to choose her, he’s a real high-calibre athlete and it was a situational thing,” she said.
While many other MAFS alumni have kept quiet on the couple’s split – fans were shocked to see another former contestant make some “shady” comments about Jayden.
Ella Ding, who starred in the 2022 series of MAFS Australia (alongside Jayden’s brother, Mitch) took to TikTok shortly after news of the pair’s separation broke, commenting: “His last words on the screens… ‘I’m not Mitch 2.0′”, followed by a melting face emoji.
“Thank God for silver linings because you have one coming,” she added.
It’s not the first time Ella has commented on Jayden and Eden’s relationship, previously mentioning on her podcast Sit With Us that they weren’t a good match.
“He’s not right for her. I don’t think they’re good for each other,” she said of her former brother-in-law.
“I think they need to go their separate ways, whether they have or haven’t in the real world. I don’t like Jayden, and maybe it’s because he’s related to Mitch.”
