Stu Laundy exclusive: ‘I was not a party boy’

While he copped a bit of flak online after his public split from Love Island host Sophie, Stu Laundy said he has no bad bones with his ex.

“We’re still in contact, we haven’t seen each other since late January, but I’m aware of what she’s up to and she checks in on me in a loving and caring way.”

So, could he see himself reuniting with the blonde?

“Both of us believe we were better suited as friends. We have a very similar sense of humour and love of life. Our lives are just different. We worked it out… On the show you don’t get enough time to work out all the different details. Our lives are in different places.”

Despite rumours of his “party boy” persona, Stu maintains that was never the case.

“No, I was not a party boy. [Because we were] living in different states, whenever Sophie and I saw each other, there was always a fair few drinks involved. Part of that is her life… That whole world, the socialising, alcohol and plenty of cigarettes. I’ve never been a proper smoker, but if I’m having a few drinks I’ll have a cigarette or two. Luckily for me, I’ve never taken it up full-time. It’s a massive part of that world, but I didn’t go well in that side of the world, if you know what I mean.”
