Alec Baldwin and his wife Hilaria shocked everyone in June 2024 when they announced they were starring in a reality show with their seven children.
In an announcement video that was not on anyone’s bingo card, shared on Instagram, the couple explained, “We’re inviting you into our home to experience the ups and downs; the good, the bad, the wild and the crazy.”
“Home is the place we love to be most,” Alec continued.
The video then cut to a chaotic family photoshoot that captures children screaming, running around and what seems like a slim chance of a family portrait ever actually being captured.
But what is the show actually about, and where can you watch it in Australia? Keep reading for everything we know.

What is The Baldwins about?
TV network TLC said in a statement about the show, which has a working title of The Baldwins, “Alec and Hilaria Baldwin have been making headlines since they were married nearly 12 years ago. In this TLC follow-doc series, Alec and Hilaria invite viewers into the home they share with their seven growing kids. For the first time, they’re opening up their family lives and bringing everyone in to join in the nonstop love, laughter and drama.”
Now that the show has officially premieres, more details have emerged about the TLC follow doco-series that is promising viewers an inside look at Alec and Hilaria Baldwin’s life with their seven children– Carmen, 11; Rafael, 9; Leonardo, 8; Romeo, 6; Eduardo, 4; María Lucía, 3; and Ilaria, 2
The show captures the chaos, love, and humour of their home, featuring everything from lively family dinners to deeper conversations about mental health and parenting. Alongside their dynamic as parents, the series also highlights Alec and Hilaria’s relationship as they tackle life’s challenges together. With plenty of heartwarming and hilarious moments, The Baldwins offers an intimate glimpse into their unconventional yet love-filled household.
“This series gives viewers a glimpse into our lives as a family – the good, bad, wild, and everything in between,” said Hilaria & Alec Baldwin, “We hope viewers will connect with our experiences and the love we share. Filming the show has been an amazing journey, and we’re proud to have TLC as a partner in telling our story.”
Is Ireland Baldwin in the show?
At this stage, the show only follows the life of Alec, Hilaria and the seven children they share. Ireland Baldwin, who Alec shares with his ex-wife Kim Basinger, is not featured. That doesn’t mean the show doesn’t explore Alec’s relationship with his 29-year-old daughter.
“My relationship with my daughter Ireland was so negatively impacted by my divorce from her mother,” he explained in the second episode. Touching on the drawn out custody and legal battles he added: “One of my most regrettable things about the whole thing was how it affected Ireland.”
“I have a good relationship with her, and she loves the kids,” he said. “She is sweet to them and is their older sister, but she isn’t in that pack.”
“This is why I think I’m so focused on Carmen,” he said of his eldest daughter with Hilaria. “I want to have a good relationship with Carmen because I have a girl all over again.”
