Paige and Jesse’s decision to quit the show wasn’t a complete surprise to many fans. Rumours had been swirling for weeks, and in week five, the couple finally pulled the pin.
Weeks after their departure, fans began speculating about the couple’s life away from the show and news of a postponed wedding further fueled rumours. But in November 2024, the couple surprised everyone by announcing they had secretly eloped in Paris.

Are Jesse and Paige still together from The Block?
After many viewers assumed the couple had broken up following their cancelled wedding, Jesse and Paige surprised everyone in November when they announced they had tied the knot.
Taking to social media, the couple announced they had married in Paris, sharing a photo of themselves in their wedding attire.
Speaking to Yahoo Lifestyle, Paige revealed the sweet reason why she and Jesse decided to elope after initially postponing their wedding in Australia, which was scheduled for December 12.
“Eloping felt like the most authentic way to celebrate our love and this commitment we were both ready to make to one another. A way to focus on what truly matters,” she shared.
“Paris holds a special place in our relationship – it’s a city we like to visit often, it’s a city that is intimate, timeless and romantic, and it made for the ideal setting to begin this chapter in such a special way. And it’s not too bad having a reason to head back for every anniversary.”
Did Jesse and Paige cancel their wedding?
After weeks of fan speculation, Yahoo! Lifestyle revealed in late September that Jesse and Paige had postponed their upcoming wedding.
Sharing a screenshot of a letter to their guests, Paige and Jesse wrote, “Life, in its unpredictable course, has presented us with unforeseen circumstances that have led us to the decision to postpone our upcoming wedding on 12 December 2024.”
“Whilst we were eagerly looking forward to celebrating our love and commitment with you all, we believe it is essential to acknowledge when a moment is not right, and this year, it is not.”
While some fans took the news as an indication they may have split, sources speaking to the publication claimed that Jesse and Paige had previously made the decision to postpone their nuptials long before The Block started airing for 2024.
“They haven’t told anyone from The Block about their relationship update and their co-stars have no idea,” the source shared at the time.
The “relationship theory is not even close to the truth,” Paige told the publication shortly before their departure aired on TV. “We understand that [the producers’] narrative, shaped by their edits, might suggest otherwise – however the true reason won’t start to unfold until around week three, and even then, it won’t be played out on camera for the audience in true form.”
In August, the couple took to Instagram to celebrate their seventh anniversary, and over the past year have regularly shared pictures of their overseas travel, date nights and relationship with fans.

Why did Paige and Jesse quit The Block?
Just days after their departure aired, Paige took to TikTok to share her experience on the show, telling fans in an emotional 3-part series that she was “annoyed” by how the show depicted her experience.
“We were quite frustrated with the first two weeks and how we were depicted…It’s such a shame you didn’t get to see our good moments,” she explained.
She also spoke out at claims that the couple quit the show to work on their relationship. “I was spiralling,” she admitted, acknowledging that her “very real mental health issues” led to their departure.
“Our relationship wasn’t crumbling,” she confirmed. “Were we butting heads? Yes. Were we fighting and arguing and bickering? Yes. Was it the end of the world? No.”
Yahoo Lifestyle first broke the news of the couple’s departure back in April, with the publication revealing that Paige and Jesse decided to call it quits just six weeks into filming. The high-pressure environment of The Block proved to be too much, and they fled Phillip Island, leaving everyone—producers included—shocked.

A production insider shared with the publication at the time; “Everyone was left gobsmacked when the Western Australian team fled Phillip Island. Producers felt blindsided by their decision to quit. It certainly wasn’t on their bingo card when they cast the season.”
According to the publication, Channel Nine was left scrambling to find a replacement, and in stepped sisters Maddy and Charlotte from NSW – the youngest contestants of the season. The dynamic duo, with plenty of renovation experience under their belts, were given just 24 hours’ notice to jump in and finish the job.
Executive Producer Julian Cress also hinted at the dramatic storyline in a previous interview.
“The Block certainly didn’t turn out to be a holiday for everybody. We didn’t make it through the whole series with all five teams,” he previously told TV Tonight. “We had to replace one of them along the way, which was a very dramatic moment.”
“It was a very difficult decision for [the contestants] to come to, but there was a very strong reason why they decided to do it and very dramatic and will be unfolding in the coming weeks.”

Following the couple’s heartbreaking departure from the show, Scotty Cam spoke out, telling fans the pair left the show on their own accord.
“We didn’t force them out,” he explained in a video published on 9Now. “It was a duty of care moment.”
“We’ve always said we’re not doing anything important here, we’re just renovating. Health, well-being, happiness, always comes first on The Block. We always make sure contestants’ wellbeing is number one.”
“We got professional help and had extensive chats,” he added. “They made the decision themselves – we didn’t force them out. They made the decision they wanted to go home. We followed it up with professional care in their home state for as long as they needed it.”
