After production on The Masked Singer was shut down just hours before the show’s nail-biting finale was about to be filmed, Channel 10 has confirmed the final episode is now officially in the can.

The grand finale, which features a sing-off between Frillneck, Queen and Bushranger, was filmed in a unique and unprecedented way on Tuesday.
The Masked Singer was filmed across Melbourne, Sydney and New Zealand, with Victorian-based panellists Dannii Minogue and Dave Hughes returning to the show’s Melbourne set, while New South Wales-based Osher Gunsberg and Jackie O filmed from inside a Sydney studio.
But new judge Urzila Carlson was required to isolate upon her return to her home country of New Zealand, so she dialled into the taping of the episode via a video link on her laptop, while she quarantines inside an Auckland hotel room.
It’s understood Osher and Jackie were anxious to return to their families after isolating in Victoria for 14 days, so were allowed to return home to New South Wales.
“Network 10 can confirm that Jackie O, Osher Gunsberg and other Sydney based crew members from The Masked Singer production have returned to New South Wales,’’ a Channel 10 spokesman said in a statement.
“Network 10 has complied with all directions given by the Victorian and New South Wales health departments.”
Last month, several crew members tested positive to the coronavirus, forcing an immediate shutdown of production on set in the Docklands Studios.
Almost 300 cast and crew members were forced to isolate for two weeks, with a total of 17 positive cases linked to the program.
The Melbourne studio underwent a deep clean following the outbreak.
Channel 10 says viewers will be able to see all of the adjustments live on air, when they watch the finale next week.
“I have been so proud of how the cast and crew have rallied together to get this finale filmed,” Ten’s head of entertainment, Stephen Tate, told The Sydney Morning Herald.
“The team have been able to replicate The Masked Singer set in the Sydney studio and of course we have made a few creative adjustments, all of which you will see on air. The lengths everyone has gone to to ensure this finale will maintain its production integrity and, best of all, its entertainment value has been extraordinary.”
The Masked Singer Australia 2020 finale will air on Monday September 14 at 7.30pm on Network 10.
