The Voice coach Kelly Rowland has come out swinging against a contestant who upset her with an off-the-cuff remark.

After the Destiny’s Child singer and fellow coach Boy George both turned their chairs for Australian Idol alum Ricky Muscat on Monday night’s episode, they attempted to convince him to join their respective teams.
Considering both Kelly and George’s pitches, Ricky praised them both before making his final choice.

“I like what both of you have said,” Ricky told them.
“Honestly when I come up here I had no idea who I was going to choose, I was just hopeful that one person would turn.”
But it was the line he uttered next that had Kelly up in arms.
“George, I love you and Kelly, you’re so beautiful. The coach that I am choosing is George,” he said.

Once Ricky walked off stage, Kelly vented to Delta Goodrem that Ricky opting to compliment her looks rather than her talent and experience was “degrading”.
“It is the most frustrating sh-t. You know what’s so frustrating? To be called “beautiful”. It’s so degrading. It really pisses me off,” Kelly raged.
“Like, ‘Oh, you’re so cute, you’re so pretty.’ I’ve been here for 20-something years, you know what I mean? It’s not about… like I don’t care who he would have chosen.
“It’s just the fact that he’s like George… and you, ‘You’re a woman, you’re pretty.’ That makes me upset. Oooh that irritates me.”

It’s not the first time Kelly has lost her temper during The Voice’s Blind Auditions.
On Sunday night’s episode she unleashed on both Boy George and Guy Sebastian after she was blocked from getting artist Johnny Manuel on her team.
“I’m really upset,” Kelly admitted, before asking Guy, “What did you do Guy? Are you telling me you blocked me? Tell me in my eyes!”
She then turned her attention to George who refused to admit he was guilty of blocking her, “unless he had his lawyer present”.
The Voice continues Sunday 7.30pm on Channel Nine
