We take a look at which MAFS 2019 couples are still loved up – and which one’s have headed to splitsville.
In what seems like a never ending season of Married at First Sight we can’t believe how far some of the couples have come – and how many are still together…
Mike Gunner and Heidi Latcham: Conspicuously absent.
Right now they can’t keep their hands off one another. And though Mike, 43, initially looked to have sabotaged their connection – via a spectacularly awkward conversation on their honeymoon – they’ve managed to steer their (relation)ship back on track.
In the real world? Hmm – maybe not.
The couple aren’t pictured in one another’s Instagram feeds, except when promoting the show, and have only been pictured together at official MAFS press meet-ups. Heidi, 37, has also returned to her radio career on 919 Sea FM, and she’s not exactly gushing wildly about her one-time hubbie on air. Watch this space…
Martha Kalifatidis and Michael Brunelli – Moving in together!
We love these two! And we love how into each other they were right from the start.
“To get a woman as gorgeous as Martha, was an absolute relief,” Michael, 27, recently admitted to WHO. “When she got [to the altar], her smile put a massive smile on my face. And instantly I was calmed, and felt that there was this little connection; this little spark.”
Since then, they’ve met one another’s families, and been hanging out. They’ve also tossed around the ‘L Word’ – and there’s even talk of Michael moving to Bondi!
“I came into the experiment saying that if the opportunity arose, and I fell in love, I would move for love. I have lived in the same are, my entire life, in Melbourne, so it’s definitely something I could be open to if the situation was right,” he recently told WHO.
“He’s moving to Bondi,” Martha, 30, added.
Consider yourself told, Michael!
Cam Merchant and Jules Robinson – a legitimate couple!
This one’s a no-brainer – of course, they’re still together! Not only have Cam, 34 and Jules, 36, been doing plenty of joint press interviews, they were also recently snapped moving things into Jules’ Double Bay apartment. The couple, who couldn’t hide their excitement at being paired together at their wedding ceremony, were both still wearing their wedding rings as Cam heaved his suitcases into Jules’ home.
Sam Ball and Elizabeth Sobinoff: SO over
After the texting and the ‘did they, didn’t they?’ sexting with series bad-gal Ines, the tradie and his bride Elizabeth are not a thing.
Sam requested an early exit from the series, after his publicised match-up with Ines also went awry. WHO spoke to Sam’s new girlfriend, who is not involved in the show!
Meanwhile, “Australia’s Most Confident Bride” Elizabeth is keeping mum about the drama of the show or any current love interests and focussing on her dramatic new look instead.
Ning Surasiang and Mark Scrivens – long distance love?
She gave up a lot to be on the show, recently admitting to being “heartbroken” at having missed her son’s 4th birthday due to filming commitments. But could it all have been worthwhile for 32 year-old Townsville mum-of-three, Ning Surasiang? She posted pics of a “date night” in Sydney with her husband – and Mark still had his wedding ring on.
The couple had a shaky start, but things have been going a lot smoother since, and they could be one of this season’s success stories. That’s if Mark, who currently lives in Melbourne, is willing to be flexible with where he lives – it looks doubtful Ning can easily leave behind her life in Far North Queensland.
This may be an insurmountable obstacle.
Cyrell Paule and Nic Jovanovic – it’s over
Initially the pair were pictured hanging out with one another at the St Kilda Festival, along with other loved-up contestants, Jules and Cam.
But once news that the pair had quit the show went to air, then the gloves were off. With talk of Nic’s wondering eye (and hands) and sex tapes the couple are well and truly over.
Cyrell has moved on with former Love Island star Eden Dally. So watch this space on her next reality TV relationship.
Melissa Lucarelli and Dino Hira – they were too different to make it work
Their relationship was something of a trainwreck from the get-go, but then things seem to level out for 38 year-old Melissa and meditation teacher husband, Dino, 35.
The couple were getting along well, and Melissa, who was celibate for eight years before going on the show, recently admitted the pair were intimate with one another on the show. So far, so good…
That is until, of course, Dino was found to be recording his bride’s phone calls, and then the writing was on the wall.
So are they still together? Hell, no! Let’s move on, shall we.
Lauren Huntriss and Matthew Bennett: Called it quits!
We just couldn’t figure these two out. First they’re loved-up as heck and Lauren, 31, is taking her new husband’s virginity. Next minute – Lauren’s a one-time Lesbian, Matthew, 29, is speechless at the revelation…and they’re not talking!
Yep, then reports surfaced that the two MAFS participants were actually been banned from having any contact with each other after an alleged “incident.” And no, that incident wasn’t a pregnancy!
With Lauren being connected to Mick after they both left the show we’ll be watching closely to see if things hot up between the couple.
Jessika Power and Mick Gould – already moved on.
These two mismatched love-birds still together? Um – NO WAY! It was clear from the start that party girl princess Jessika and her down-on-the-farm country boy Mick weren’t exactly well matched. But we were willing to give it a go because: science.
But they’ve both well and truly moved on.
These guys are donezo, but with Jess now hooked up with new guy Dan on the show, there’s more MAFS drama to come from the Perth local.
Ines Basic and Bronson Norris – what, are you kidding us?!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Jessika Power and Dan Webb – all-over-each-other, on!
When intruder Dan Webb entered the experiment with Tamara Joy there was one bride other than the one he’d married who had her eye on the Gold Coast single dad from the get go. Jess made no apologies for pursuing Dan at the dinner party and things went downhill for his marriage, but right on track for Jess from then on.
Fast forward to the last commitment ceremony and the experts gave new couple Jess and Dan the OK to move into the experiment together.
The pair have been pictured together so many times in recent weeks, and headlined various talk shows as a couple, that there’s no denying they are together and could be one of the strongest couples to come out of the experiment.
