We fell in love with him as Robb Stark in Game of Thrones, and recently, he made his way back into our hearts with his fantastic performance in Rocketman.
Richard Madden is a force to be reckoned with, and securing the role of James Bond would brand him legendary!
Richard Madden in discussion to be the next James Bond:
Right now, the 32-year-old star is bookies’ favourite to replace Daniel Craig as the womanising spy.
He’s ahead of actors such as Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, James Norton, and Tom Hardy – who have all been ‘in talks’ to play the role.
Speaking on a KTLA 5 News panel, he was asked, “When you become the next James Bond, some suggest may happen, and you’re smiling when I say it… Will you do your first interview here or at Netflix?”
“Yeah I think it’ll probably be here,” Madden laughs.
He continued: “It’s really flattering to be in the conversation for it, people just kind of make up a lot of things but its lovely to be involved in that conversation… Very flattering.”
It’s not the first time he’s admitted to being involved either!
When Madden was asked about the 007 rumours at the Cannes Film Festival press conference, he was asked if it were a “done deal”.
“It’s very flattering to be involved in that conversation at all.
“But it’s all just talk and I’m sure next week it’ll be someone different.”
Right now, Craig is shooting his fifth and final James Bond movie, which is set for an April 2020 release.
However, Bond producer Barbara Broccoli is trying her best to convince Craig to stay on for a sixth film!
We will just have to wait and see!
