It was revealed the family had moved into their new mansion in early November 2025, after Kensington Palace announced in August they “will move house later this year”.

William and Kate moved during their kids school half-term and are now settling in, just a few days before the Prince of Wales heads to Brazil for the Earthshot Prize 2025.

The eight-bedroom Forest Lodge has been chosen for their residence, giving their children- Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7 – much more space.

The Grade II listed Georgian property, nestled in a secluded spot within Windsor Great Park, is just minutes away from the kids’ school meaning they continue on at Lambrook.

The 328-year-old property, which is owned by the Crown Estate, is said to be worth about $30 million dollars.

Forest Lodge remains close by the kids school so they can continue going to Lambrook.

The red-brick home includes Venetian windows, marble fireplaces, a hallway with a barrel-vaulted ceiling, and ornate stucco moulding. There are also tennis courts on site.

It did require some renovations that William and Kate funded themselves.

Kate has reportedly already been spotted furniture shopping, purchasing a 24-seater table, ahead of the move.

The only downside might be that the property is next door to Royal Lodge, where Andrew Mountbatten Windsor is temporarily residing following his recent eviction and being stripped of his titles.

Why are Prince William and Kate moving house?

It has been a tough couple of years for the Prince and Princess of Wales, who lost Queen Elizabeth within days of moving to Adelaide Cottage to be closer to her.

Kate has also faced a serious cancer battle during their time living there.

“Over the last few years while they have lived at Adelaide Cottage there have been some really difficult times,” a source told The Sun.

“Moving gives them an opportunity for a fresh start and a new chapter; an opportunity to leave some of the more unhappy memories behind. This is a move for the long-term. They see it as their forever home.”

William and Kate will fund their own renovations of their new home.

It is understood that the family moved into their current smaller residence to test out whether Windsor suited their family and work needs.

It turns out they have all loved living in Windsor, so much so, that it is believed they will continue to use Forest Lodge as their home, even once William eventually becomes King.
