Ruby Rose has quit her leading role as on the CW series Batwoman after just one season, but according to reports there were disagreements between Ruby and the producers.
Numerous sources say that Ruby wasn’t happy with the long hours on set required of her as the series’ lead Kate Kane, which didn’t sit well with the production team.
“It wasn’t 100 per cent her decision,” an insider source told TV Line.
“It was a break-up. She wasn’t happy working on the show, and did that make her fun to work with? No. So everyone decided it would be in the best interests of the show, and for all concerned, if they parted ways,” they added.
“It just wasn’t a good fit.”

Ruby released a statement announcing the news that she she’d made the “very difficult decision” to not return to Batwoman for the next season.
“This was not a decision I made lightly as I have the utmost respect for the cast, crew and everyone involved with the show in both Vancouver and in Los Angeles,” she explained.
“Thank you to everyone who made season one a success – I am truly grateful,” she finished.
Whilst it’s unknown who will step into the role after Ruby, the network and studio promised they would cast another member of the LGBTQ community in the part.

Some fans speculated that Ruby left due to her health issues.
In September, the Orange Is The New Black star revealed she had undergone emergency surgery after herniating two discs performing stunts on the series that left her in “chronic pain”. She also remarked that she almost severed her spinal cord.
However, a source familiar with the situation told Variety that the actor’s decision “had nothing to do with her health or injury.”
Ruby has also been very transparent with her mental health issues as well, explaining on Instagram that she’d struggled with her mental health for her entire life and that she had attempted suicide multiple times.

Ruby is currently in lockdown in Los Angeles and has joined the list of celebrities who’ve made a dramatic isolation hair transformation.
The actress shared a series of photos of herself to Instagram, revealing that she’s swapped her trademark short brown locks for a dramatic bright pink and blue buzz cut.
“What can I say!? Sometimes you just need to feel blue and other times you need pink to lighten your day,” she wrote in the caption.
