Calling all Game of Thrones fans: Australian actor Ryan Corr has been cast in the highly anticipated new HBO prequel, House of the Dragon.
The new series promises to be the hottest television event since Daenerys burnt King’s Landing to the ground. You know… like in the final season? Just a little Thrones humour for ya, because our favourite show about kings, queens and dragons is back. In a way.
From the mind of George R.R. Martin, the prequel House of the Dragon will explore events within the Targaryen dynasty set 200 years before those of GoT.

In a short but scintillating new trailer, fans can catch a glimpse of what the show has to offer. And while not all that much really happens in the minute-long teaser, it’s still enough to reel you in.
Sword fighting, jousting, ominous staring and dramatic walks by candlelight all hint at one major thing: House of the Dragon will be every bit as captivating as Game of Thrones.
In a recent batch of first-look images, fans also scored a glimpse of the core cast in their soon-to-be iconic roles.
There’s Emma D’Arcy as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, Matt Smith as Prince Daemon Targaryen, Steve Toussaint as Lord Corlys Velaryon, Oliva Cooke as Alicent Hightower and Rhys Ifans as Otto Hightower.
Aussies will get a kick as former Packed to the Rafters and Bloom star Ryan was recently added to the cast list as Ser Harwin Strong. He’s joined by fellow Aussie Milly Alcock (Upright) and a host of Hollywood heavyweights and fresh faces.
The cast also includes Jefferson Hall as Lord Jason Lannister, David Horovitch as Grand Maester Mellos, Graham McTavish as Ser Harrold Westerling, Matthew Needham as Larys Strong, Bill Paterson as Lord Lyman Beesbury, Gavin Spokes as Lord Lyonel Strong, Emily Carey as the young Alicent Hightower.
Plus, the recently announced Wil Johnson as Ser Vaemond Velaryon, John Macmillan as Ser Laenor Velaryon, Savannah Steyn as Lady Laena Velayron, and Theo Nate as Ser Laenor Velaryon.
While we wait for further news on a premiere date for House of the Dragon, all eight seasons of Game of Thrones are available to watch On Demand on FOXTEL and BINGE.
