“We’re in a really good place, we’re the best of mates, we laugh all the time,” gushes Sam to WHO.

The 29-year-old has been dating Dave for over a year and she’s admitted previously that they’re keen to move in with one another ‘one day’, yet when it comes to marriage she admits they’re taking it one step at a time.

‘We don’t put pressure on the relationship, we just take one step at a time,’ Sam adds.

That said, she does credit Dave for helping her deal with her anxiety and depression.

‘He’s the one to pick up the pieces after a breakdown or anxiety attack,’ she said previously.

Her mental health platform, Believe, who she runs with her sister Kristine has not only helped others but herself.

“It’s so important to be open and talk about and share experiences, when you are depressed you feel isolated and alone and it feels quite dark. We want people to feel that they are not alone and that there is a support network,” says Sam.

Her sister also has two young daughters Bridie and Olive who Sam adores spending time with.

“I feel so lucky we have such a great relationship, we have such a strong bond. I want to be a really great aunty for them. I have a very close relationship with my brother and sister, I always make effort and time with them and their kids mean the world to me,” she adds.

Does she want kids of her own one day? “I’m in no rush, not in my near plans but one day I might be ready!”

Sam also details her plans for the holiday break. “I’m going to be driving home to Melbourne now, so we can all be together for the holidays, it’s going to be a huge one, lots of games, lots of food, I am so excited to spend it with my family, it’s such a grounding experience.

She’s also loaded up her car with presents. “I’m getting my nieces Lego as I get to be creative with them, we have princesses in one corner and bank robbers in another…everything will be chaos, but that’s what Christmas is all about!”
