One of Netflix’s biggest shows of 2020, Sex/Life, has been renewed for a second season after months of suspense.

The spicy show, which centered on main character Billie Connelly (Sarah Shahi) and her raunchy memories and fantasies starring former bad-boy boyfriend, Brad Simon (Adam Demos), saw instant popularity across the streaming giant.

Although the first season was watched by 67 million households in its first four weeks, Netflix kept the obsessed fans in suspense over whether a second season was coming.

They finally announced the renewal today with a short video, featuring various women discussing their obsession with the show and their desire for more.

The video was posted by Sex/Life’s official Instagram account, and also by lead actors Sarah Shahi and Adam Demos, who are a couple in real life.

“I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS!!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥,” actor Hassie Harrison commented on Sarah’s post.

“Letsss gooooooo 🙌🏾,” commented Margaret Odette, who plays Billie’s best friend Sasha on the show.

“Yeeeeeeeah baby ❤️❤️,” Adam Demos commented.

Fans are particularly excited for the new episodes, given that season one ended on a bit of a cliffhanger, where (spoiler alert!) Billie seemed to turn away from her marriage in favour of her relationship with Brad, which was intended to continue the show’s focus on female sexuality.

“When she goes to Brad in those last moments … it’s not so much about him. It is about her unleashing this part of herself that she’s been denying for so long,” Sarah told Refinery29 when asked about the ending.

Sex/Life is a dream come true. To create a show about empowered female sexuality that has entranced so many millions of viewers is not only immensely fun but also incredibly gratifying,” said showrunner and creator Stacy Rukeyser.

“When I think about all the women who have reached out from all over the world to say that the show speaks to them in a deeply personal way, I am so inspired,” she added.

“I’m thrilled and grateful for the opportunity to continue telling this story for Billie, and for all of us.”
