While rumours have long been swirling that Sofia Richie’s family disapprove of her dating Scott Disick, the 21-year-old’s mother has finally set the record straight.

Speaking about their three-year-long relationship, Diane Alexander— who also shares son Miles with her ex-husband, Lionel Richie— says she gave her seal of approval a long time ago, telling Heat Magazine she adores the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star.
“I love him! We all have our stuff but he’s a really good guy. He’s such a good dad. I don’t know if people really know that. He’s at home with them every night – homework, bedtime,” she said of Scott who shares children Mason, 10, Penelope, seven, and Reign, four, with ex-partner Kourtney.

While she acknowledges there’s a hefty 15 year age gap between the couple, Diane says the model is wise beyond her years and she trusts her judgement implicitly.
“She’s so independent, taking care of herself. I’m so proud of her,” she said. “It’s very well-adjusted in my eyes, all of it. Everyone seems in a healthy place. She’s really wise and she doesn’t do anything wrong relationship-wise – she knows right from wrong. Sofia means wisdom. I learn a lot from her.”
While Scott and Sofia are deeply private about their relationship and are rarely seen in public together, they’re said to be using this time in isolation to work on their once rocky relationship. Insiders claim they’ve grown much closer since hunkering down in their Calabasas mansion and are said to be focusing on resolving “lingering obstacles in their relationship”.
“Sofia and Scott had a few issues the last few months because she didn’t think he was very present in the relationship, and kind of thought he was in the relationship for himself,” the source told Hollywood Life.
“She almost felt like he was taking her for granted, which made her upset. That led to them having a few heart to hearts.”

After hashing out their differences, the model and Talentless founder— who began dating in 2017— have altered the way they approach hurdles, which has also led Scott to “change his attitude a bit”.
“This quarantine is bringing Sofia and Scott even closer and he’s really proven that he can be there for her in tough times, just as much as he is in the good times.
“He finally realised what he was doing and now things are a lot better,” the pal added. “They are much more of a team than just being individuals in a relationship.
It’s nice to hear they’re trying to better their romance. Especially since a friend of the couple’s told People Magazine in February that “there’s always some kind of drama” negatively impacting their connection.

“Scott and Sofia are the type of couple that constantly split up and get back together,” the source said. “It’s all very dramatic, and then all good again.”
Perhaps cutting ties with Kourtney Kardashian has also helped Sofia relax into their relationship more. Last month, a source revealed she was fed up with the way the mum-of-three had been treating her and finally put her foot down.
“Sofia has literally spent years biting her lip and dealing with all of Kourt’s attitude, but now she’s totally done with it,” an insider told Radar Online of her now estranged relationship with the Poosh founder.
“She’s taking the initiative and making it known that she won’t be bullied or talked down to anymore.”
