Spice Girls fans will be devastated to hear the girl group’s hoped-for reunion tour has reportedly been “axed”. Despite Mel B’s hint that they were “definitely doing something” on UK chat show Loose Women earlier this year, it appears the beloved pop group will not be taking to the stage together anytime soon.
The cancellation comes amid rumours of a fresh feud between band members Mel B and Geri Halliwell, which has reportedly come to a head after an apparent jibe from Scary Spice on Instagram.

It has been a tough year for Geri, 52, whose husband, Formula One chief Christian Horner, faced allegations of inappropriate behaviour with a female assistant. The allegations came to light in February, but were dismissed later that month and Horner kept his job.
In March, just days after the allegations were dismissed, the former pop star supported her husband through the media attention by showing a united front at the Bahrain Grand Prix.
Following that drama, Mel B’s decision to post a less than flattering message to Geri online may have been the final straw.

“Happy 75th Bday Ginge,” Mel B wrote on Instagram stories on August 6, a nod to Geri’s nickname, Ginger Spice, and potentially to the rumour she started that Geri isn’t honest about her age.
On Olivia Attwood’s So Wrong It’s Right podcast in March, Mel B said, “No-one knows how old Geri is. No-one’s seen her passport. I mean, I know we’ve travelled the world, but I still don’t know how old she is.”
Seems comments like those haven’t gone down well. “Geri has had enough to deal with after all the drama with her husband’s relationship with his assistant – it has been a tough enough time – and she’s just lost patience with Mel and her little digs and jibes,” a source told Mail Online.

It appears that it was Ginger who made the call to halt tour plans.
“She’s walked away and without Geri it’s really not going to happen – in the past she’s been a driving force in the group, but she doesn’t want to deal with Mel at all at the moment let alone share a stage with her,” the source continued.
The duo were spotted together in April, shortly after Mel B’s comments about Geri’s age, at Victoria Beckham’s 50th birthday celebration. They can be seen in videos performing as a group at the party and posing for pictures as a quintet, although sources have revealed all wasn’t as it seemed at the event.
“When it came to taking their group picture, Geri kept as far away from Mel [B] as possible which was awkward to watch,” a source told The Sun.

This isn’t the first time Mel B has ruffled Geri’s feathers before a tour. Ahead of the group’s Spice World – 2019 UK Tour, Mel B told Piers Morgan that she and Geri had engaged in a one-night fling during their Spice Girls days. This sparked another upset between the on-again, off-again friends, with Geri adamant that no such thing happened, adding in a statement that the rumour had been “very hurtful to her family”.
Mel B has since revealed to The Mail on Sunday that the fallout made things “difficult” between them on tour.
As for where they stand now, a look at their social media profiles may reveal all. Scary Spice continues to follow each of her former bandmates on Instagram, while Geri follows all except Mel B…
