While most of the Olympic calendar will take place within the city of Paris, the Olympic Games will also see events hosted across France, with athletes competing for medals in the towns of Versailles, Montigny-le-Bretonneux, Châteauroux, Elancourt, Saint-Etienne, Marseille, and Nice.
The Olympic Games Paris 2024 will also stretch far beyond the French coastline, with the surfing event taking place in Teahupo’o, Tahiti, French Polynesia.

When does the Olympics start?
Get ready for a big month of sport! The Olympic Games Paris 2024 will take place from Friday, July 26, 2024, to Sunday, August 11, 2024.
While the Opening Ceremony marks the official start of the Olympics, events will kick off on Wednesday, July 24, with the Men’s Football Group Stage and Men’s Rugby Sevens Pool Rounds being the first events of the Olympic Games Paris 2024.
Also ahead of the Opening Ceremony, the Women’s Archery, Women’s Football, and Women’s Handball will enter their first round of competition on Thursday, July 25, 2024.
