Crime-solving forensic technician and vigilante serial killer Dexter Morgan is enjoying a new lease on life – and it’s set to continue with sequel series Dexter: Resurrection.
More than a decade after Dexter finished its eight-season run, Michael C. Hall will reprise his iconic role as the killer with a code who we can’t help but root for.
The series officially went into production in January 2025 and since then there’s been a couple of cast announcements that indicate this is going to be a must-watch.

Who is in the cast of Dexter: Resurrection?
Bringing some serious acting chops to the project, both Kill Bill‘s Uma Thurman and Game of Thrones‘ Peter Dinklage have signed on.
Thurman has joined the cast as Charley, the head of security for mysterious billionaire Leon Prater, who will be played by Dinklage.
Charley is described as a former Special Ops officer who has worked in various high-level private security jobs before taking on her position as the resourceful and meticulous right-hand woman for Prater.
According to Deadline, her boss Prater, a billionaire venture capitalist who perhaps leads a double life. The world sees him as a generous philanthropist, but behind his polished exterior lies dark intrigue.
The series will also see David Zayas reprise his role as Detective Angel Batista, with James Remar as Dexter’s father, Harry Morgan, and Jack Alcott as Dexter’s son, Harrison, also both due to return.
What is the plot of Dexter: Resurrection?
At this stage, not too much is known about the plot of Dexter: Resurrection. But it seems that the action will pick up right after the finale of Dexter: New Blood (2021-2022). At the end of that series Dexter supposedly dies and his son Harrison Morgan (played by Jack Alcott) goes into the family business.
How they will write Dexter back to life is a question many pundits are asking.
As for the who will be the bad guy that lands in Dexter’s sights, according to Deadline, that will be Leon Prater, played by Dinklage.
Where can I watch Dexter: Resurrection?
There’s been no firm date for release as yet but what we do is that it is set to launch in Australia in winter of 2025 exclusively on Paramount+ .
