It’s not a secret that we here at WHO are *huge* fans of Formula 1 and for many of us, we have Netflix’s Drive to Survive to thank for unlocking our latest (and longest-lasting) hyper-fixation.
Since first bursting onto our screens with a dedicated Daniel Ricciardo episode in 2019, the fan-favourite docu-series has since become a global phenomenon, to say the least, with over 4 million fans tuning in to watch the latest season as soon as it dropped.
To be 100% real, as much as we love the thrill of waking up to watch a race at 2:00 am, there is no greater joy than sitting back and rewatching all the behind-the-scenes drama at a perfectly reasonable hour and in good news, Drive to Survive Season 7 is not too far away.

Whether you tuned in for every race of the season or are just wondering what all the hype is about, there’s no denying that the 2024 Formula 1 season was one of the most dramatic in recent years, and if the trailer is anything to go by, we’re in for some serious paddock drama.
From Lewis Hamilton’s move to Ferrari to Danny Ric’s last year, the 2024 silly season was home to some pretty monumental and controversial moments, so keep scrolling for everything you need to know.

What is Drive to Survive?
If you’ve somehow managed to avoid the countless edits of Drive to Survive on TikTok and want to know what all the fuss is about, we’ve got you.
First premiering on Netflix in 2019, Drive to Survive offers a never-before-seen behind-the-scenes look into the world of Formula 1 and the 10 teams that make up the F1 grid.
Unlike other documentary series, Drive to Survive closely follows the 20 drivers both on and off track, with one season of the show spanning the entire eight-month Formula 1 season.
Both on and off track, Formula 1 is not without its fair share of drama (e.g. Toto Wolff’s viral “I have it printed out” argument), but thanks to the dedicated team camera crews, fans of the sport are able to get up close and personal with the paddock’s biggest personalities as they navigate the political, and often cutthroat, world of elite motorsport.

How many seasons of Drive to Survive are there?
Following the release of the upcoming season, there will be seven seasons of Drive to Survive available to stream on Netflix.
If you’re on the hunt for a new series to binge-watch, each season of the show has 10 episodes, with run times varying anywhere from 30 minutes to over an hour.
When does Drive to Survive come out?
If you’re anything like us, you definitely said, ‘I NEED to know what happened’ during some of the 2024 season’s most headline-making moments (papaya rules anyone?!)
Fortunately, we won’t have to wait too much longer to get the inside scoop, with Netflix confirming that Season 7 of Drive to Survive will be released worldwide on Friday, March 7, 2025.
