While the final shots may have shown Winstom and Bowrey, played by Ian McShae and Laurence Fishburne, paying their respects by John’s headstone, his journey has not yet come to an end, with Keanu Reeves now being confirmed to return for John Wick 5.

“Keanu, Chad, [and producers] Basil [Iwanyk] and Erica [Lee] would not return unless they had something truly phenomenal and fresh to say with these characters in this world,” Lionsgate Motion Picture Group chair Adam Fogelson told Entertainment Weekly, adding, “We can’t wait for audiences to see where the journey takes us next.”

With his resurrection confirmed, keep scrolling for everything we know so far about John Wick 5.

What will John Wick 5 be about?

After seemingly killing off their protagonist, there are several theories as to how John Wick’s sudden resurection will be explained in the fifth instalment of the franchise.

While many fans have pontificated the new plotline, the most popular theory is that John Wick faked his death after being repeatedly shot during his stand-off with Caine. Despite the slight time jump in the film, fans have concluded that after struggling down the steps of Basilica of Sacré-Cœur, John was likely to have sought refuge – disguising his identity in order to deter the High Table.

Although a fake death may be the most likely introduction to the next film, there has also been talk that John Wick 5 could serve as a prequel to help expand on the storyline of the upcoming Ballerina spin-off that takes place between the events of Chapter 3 and Chapter 4.
