Bachelor fans probably felt a sense of déjà vu on Thursday night’s episode when contestant Stephanie Lynch was “exposed” for calling co-star Holly Kingston a rather controversial word.

In case you missed it, frontrunner Holly not only went for a single date with Jimmy but also pulled her aside for a private chat at the cocktail party.

This led to Steph allegedly whispering “what a c***” to Brooke, who being one of Holly’s closest friends in the mansion, then informed her.

After being told, Holly confronted Steph in front of the group but she denied ever calling Holly the C word.

The moment was remarkably similar to a time during Matt Agnew’s season in 2019 when Abbie Chatfield told the Bachelor that her co-star Monique Morley had called him a “dog c***” and a “disrespectiful pig” behind his back.

Monique was promptly questioned by Matt and when she denied it, was asked to leave.

When a clip from Thursday’s cocktail party was shared on the official Bachelor Instagram, however, former 2019 contestant Sogand Mohtat jumped to Steph’s defence, commenting: “@moniquemorley the mems feeling it for Steph right now!”

When one Bachie fan responded to Sogand’s comment saying that unlike Monique Steph’s comment was said on camera, Sogand replied that “actually it’s the same.”

“They were both put on the spot on national TV. Imagine there was a public announcement everytime one of us lied about something. Be kind.”

In response to another fan, the 2019 reality star wrote: “I’m not saying I agree with what she said. It’s not nice at all. I just want you to remember a time where you messed up and imagine that being announced publicly. On tv. Just saying I feel for her.”

This season, contestants have handed over their social media accounts to producers in a bid to prevent online trolling and bullying.

However, former contestant Sogand provided some advice for Jimmy’s girls ahead of the premiere.

“I remember when my season was airing every Wed & Thurs I would be up till 4 am reading comments crying myself to sleep & then get up at 7 the next morning to go to work,” she wrote on Instagram earlier this month.

“It was the hardest period of my life. You just never know what your comment can do to someone’s mental health. Some of these girls are in lockdown & I can’t imagine how hard it’d be to deal with it all on their own. I honestly couldn’t have done it without my friends & family’s support. So please see the show for what it is. Judge all you want but you don’t need to let the person know. You have no idea how the situation has been manipulated. Either way just have fun with it in your own group chats & let it go. 👋🏾”

Sogand added: “Quick message to the girls this season. No one & I mean no one cares about the comments you get as much as you do. No one reads Facebook comments except the bullies that are there to leave the comments & they usually have horrible grammar. So if you can, don’t read them.

“Also people forget what happened 5 min ago let alone the last episode. Don’t dwell on it. Next episode, there’ll be on to someone else. 🤷🏾‍♀️ Anyways, I promise you it will all be worth it in the end. Remember people who care, don’t matter & people who matter, don’t care.🌹”
