Ah, The Bachelor hometown visits, they never fail to put our leading man, in this case Locky Gilbert, under the spotlight.
And boy did he get grilled harder than the barbecue meats served up for dinner.
WATCH: Locky gets asked about feminism on Bachelor home visits
One question in particular, which seemed rather simple, stopped the hunky adventurer in his tracks.
While visiting the home of Izzy Sharman-Firth, her mum asked a pointed question the Bachie wasn’t prepared for: “How do you feel about feminism?”
Stumped, Locky struggled to come up with an answer as viewers cringed through his stammering.
As the silence dragged out, producers cut to a piece-to-camera with Locky explaining: “I’m on The Bachelor, some people might think that I’m not the best guy to talk about feminism.”
Understandably wanting to choose his words carefully Locky then regained his composure to respond.
“Well, I guess I don’t want to do the classic family stuff when the guy goes out to work, and the girl stays home.
“I want to be able to work together, and then go travelling together, and just we’re always together,” he said.
While the comment managed to dissipate the tension with Izzy’s mum, fans at home weren’t impressed – and they wrote about it on social media.
“Sorry, but why is feminism a hard question? I may be wrong, but to me I think it says a lot about him that he thinks feminism and being on #thebachelorau can’t be conducive?” one viewer wrote.
While another added: “’How hard is it for a straight man to just say “yes I believe in equality” when asked “what do you think about feminism?”#TheBachelorAU.”
“’Men, the correct answer to “how do you feel about feminism” is “I’m completely supportive”. It’s not difficult or controversial,” a third viewer chimed in.
Another begged the question: “Do we think Locky actually knows what feminism is?”
There we have it, another Bachie makes it out of hometowns alive…barely.
