Angie Kent’s exciting quest to find love on The Bachelorette has been overshadowed by accusations she joined the show for publicity.

Last night, the lovable 29-year-old was forced to defend herself and her position on the series after a supposed “fan” questioned whether she was really serious about finding The One. Likening her season to Sophie Monk’s, in the Instagram user’s eyes, Network 10 asked the already famous TV star to sign on in an attempt to boost the show’s ratings.

“I love Angie but I know this season is for publicity for her and the dying show,” one of her followers commented on her latest Instagram post. “She won’t pick a winner it will be like Sophie Monk season. They got a familiar face so we could relate and watch.”

After noticing the comment, Angie, who rarely responds to comments, hit back, claiming her only motive was to find someone she could settle down with.

“No way in the world could be this vulnerable, emotional, completely out of my comfort zone all for a publicity stunt?” a fired-up Angie began.

“I don’t usually respond to stuff like this but it’s on my page and I want to make it clear that I 100% went in hoping to find love. That is my qword. But please think as you see fit. X.”

In fact, Angie was the one making all the rules, not Network 10! Before the show’s premiere, Angie told The Project’s panel that she had some very clear boundaries when it came to what she would and wouldn’t do on her TV dates.

“I’ve lived in the jungle and I’ve rescued dogs and lived with a man with down syndrome so I’ve seen a lot of stuff,” she explained.  “My no-go zones for dates are nothing to do with my feet and belly button.”

She added: “I just know how funny the dates can get on The Bachelorette… no massages!”

However, despite her dating no-goes, the former Gogglebox star says she feels “blessed” with the “beautiful array of gentlemen” Ten chose for her.

Although we’re only a few weeks into what will no doubt be one of the most explosive seasons to date, Angie has already been hit with an intense amount of backlash.

Following the premiere, many fans speculated that she’d gone under the knife or at least had some serious work done to her face! After hundreds of vicious comments flooded in claiming she looked completely different, she was forced to once again defend herself.

“I’ve had the same work for the last four years, but all of a sudden everyone is saying I’ve changed my face for the show,” she told a local Australian publication. “That’s 100 per cent not true. I’ve just lost weight no extra work.”
