The bizarre accessory Cara Delevingne wore at the Burberry show

The actress debuts a giant line down her chest

We’ve seen stars accentuate a plunging neckline with any number of statement necklaces or fancy body chains, but Cara Delevingne’s accessory at Monday’s Burberry show was a new one for us. She attended wearing a giant black line drawn all the way down from her chin downto her sternum — and it’s just as perplexing as it sounds.

She may have been feeling crafty today and wanted to give her eyeliner something more to do. Maybe she couldn’t find anything in her jewelry box that matched her outfit, so she just drew her own accessories. Or maybe there could be a much deeper reason that she ditched glitzy jewels in lieu of a long black line (we just have yet to think of it). But we do have to say, it did match her aesthetic perfectly.

She had a sweet-meets-sexy vibe going on with her babydoll-style dress featuring a plunging neckline, super-short pleated mini skirt and dramatic ruffle cape. And her beauty look was just as sultry with a dramatic smokey eye and bronzed shadow.

We think this new accessory look could possibly knock chokers off their A-list pedestal (just think if her squad members/BFFs Kendall Jenner or Gigi Hadid adopted the look!). Or at the very least it will double as the easiest Halloween costume imaginable.

Whatever the outcome, it didn’t distract us enough from the main news at hand: The model was supporting the brand from the sidelines, not walking the runway this year, during one of their most significant shows for the fashion house. It sent both womenswear and menswear collections shown on the same runway and had its first see-now/buy-now show — putting all 250 pieces up for sale right after the show ended.

Now, if you’ll excuse us, we’ll be faux-shopping the new collection and stalking street style photos to see how long it takes for this trend to take off. But let’s just get this off our chest (pun fully intended) now: We’re still confused.
