It’s getting pretty heated on The Block, with teams accusing others of getting special treatment and contestants desperately cutting corners to get the job done.

However, Adam has been in the firing line recently after fans claimed he was ‘illegally’ working out of hours, but not all is as it seems.

This week, the teams have been tasked with renovating the main bedroom’s ensuite, and, as always, the rush to waterproof and tile the rooms is giving the contestants a headache.

Most of all, Adam and Jolene have been stressed with the tiling and have complained that their tradie hasn’t been working quickly enough. Now, there’s a real possibility that their room won’t be finished for the judges’ inspection.

The prospect left Jolene in tears during Wednesday night’s episode while Adam was dashing around trying to do everything possible to get more tiles cut.

It was this moment that led to fans accusing him of cheating.

Why do The Block fans think Adam has cheated?

Basically, viewers think Adam has been “busted” for cutting tiles outside of the permitted working hours, claiming this isn’t allowed given that restricted working hours were introduced this season.

Contestants are only allowed to work on-site between 7 am and 6 pm (the council-mandated noise disturbance hours), yet Adam was seen cutting tiles in a car park at 7:04 pm.

Cue the frenzy of unimpressed viewers.

“Busted! Adam is cutting bathroom tiles at Oliver’s Hill car park,” one wrote online, with another saying “you can’t do that”.

“Yeah, it seems suss,” a third agreed.

Did Adam break the rules on The Block?

While it did look like Adam was up to no good, he wasn’t actually doing anything he wasn’t allowed to. In fact, site manager Dan had encouraged it.

After the pair revealed to the foreman that it was unlikely they’d have their tiling finished that day, Dan revealed that this wasn’t an option.

“Let’s start cutting the mitres,” Dan said to Adam and Jolene.

“You’re going to have to have a car on standby at six and go down the road and do cuts,” he ordered. “You can cut down there after hours.”

So there you go… no cheating to see here!

And if you have an issue, bring it up with the foreman.
