100 days from its release and Disney has gifted us with the first full trailer for The Lion King remake! And not to get you too excited, but guys, Queen Beyonce is literally in the movie… Well, at least her voice is!
Brought to you by Jon Favreau— the legendary director behind The Jungle Book— the 2019 live-action flick follows the same storyline as the original, however this time around, thanks to CGI, the characters are magnificently realistic!
The brief clip mirrors the opening sequence of the original and introduces us to the overly adorable Simba. Wandering through a mysterious boneyard, Scar’s voice, which is far less creepy this time around, echoes “life’s not fair, is it my little friend?”

Scarily real, watching the lions interact with a stampede of buffalos as they chase each other through the jungle is perhaps the most breathtaking scenery the trailer has to offer. It’s a truly marvelous experience. The scenery is spectacular, the iconic track The Circle of Life is pumping in the background and Simba is running wild… Talk about a mooood!
This time around, the voice cast includes Donald Glover as Simba, Beyonce as Nala, Seth Rogen as Pumba, and Billy Eichner as Timon.
The Lion King hits Aussie screens on July 17.
