The release of 'Black Mirror' season 5 has been delayed

Since Netflix dropped ‘Black Mirror: Bandersnatch‘ the hype around the upcoming season has only increased.

However, the choose-your-own-adventure episode was so ambitious, production for the fifth season of the hit series has been delayed.

Series creator Charlie Brooker and executive producer Anabel Jones recently told The Hollywood Reporter that the latest stand-alone episode was extremely difficult to produce. Both agreed that due to its unique interactive features—which allows viewers to choose the fate of the main character, Stefan— the episode took an “enormous” amount of time to create, and as a result, the upcoming season has been shifted.

Netflix has told me that the fifth season of Black Mirror is still to come in 2019. Bandersnatch was not the fifth season, but a standalone interactive film, in case you were wondering.
