“It’s an absolute dream come true to be heading home to Australia and joining The Voice family”, said newcomer Renee who is currently based in Los Angeles and stars as the co-host of the weekend edition of Extra.
“When it comes to entertainment television, it doesn’t get much bigger or more dynamic than The Voice. I’ve always been a huge fan of the show and am looking forward to meeting the next wave of incredibly talented Aussie artists”.

Darren— who hosted the show from 2012 to 2015— is equally as excited to return to the stage.

“I’ve hosted a lot of fun shows around the globe since leaving but nothing compares to the buzz you get from walking out onto The Voice stage,” the hunky Scotsman revealed. “The seasons that I hosted were the most fun I’ve ever had in television, and I can’t wait to pick up the reigns again to front the biggest show in Australia.”

While filming of season nine was suspended in March due to the Coronavirus pandemic, they’re now on track and ready to find the next big thing.

The level of talent promises to be even higher this year, with TV Blackbox reporting that an international winner of The Voice will join the show alongside a fan favourite artist who scored the top stop on Australian Idol.

They’ve also changed the format of the show, with each Coach being allowed two blocks during the Blind Audition. This will deny the other Coaches the chance to win the contestants over with their convincing pitches.

The shakeup will also include the introduction of The Playoffs and Showdowns— two features we’re yet to know much about.
