He’s known for his off-the-cuff comments, but comedian Tommy Little really outdid himself on The Sunday Project last night.
The Aussie larrikin unwittingly made a very crude joke during a news bulletin in which the panel were watching footage of Australian inventor David Mayman flying around the Sydney Opera House using a jetpack over the weekend.
WATCH Tommy Little totally embarrass himself on The Sunday Project:
“It’s a real line in the sand. I care about the environment, but if someone told me, ‘Hey, you can all have jetpacks, but the world will end in a couple of years’, I’d be like, ‘I’m wearing a jetpack,’” Tommy mused after the clip finished.
“I’m not even hearing the end of that sentence ’cause I’m jetpacking off on you!”
For those that may not have quite twigged, “jetpacking off” sounds very similar to the slang phrase for male masturbation – “jacking off.”
Awkward!
Clearly mortified on Tommy’s behalf, a stunned silence fell over the panel, with co-host Sarah Harris covering her face with her hands.
“Oh… that did not come out right,” she cringed.
Clearly unperturbed, Tommy continued: “Why? Because I said “I’m jetpacking off on you”? It does sound like a weird move…”
Tommy’s blunder comes just weeks after he worried fans after posting about a mystery illness.
“For years my mum’s been telling me to grow the f— up and start wearing matching socks and to get private health insurance,” he captioned a picture of his arm with a drip attached.
“Anyway, years later, here I am, wearing odd socks in a public hospital. The upside is that Australia is awesome. All the nurses and doctors here on the Goldy are the absolute best and thanks to them I’m on the mend.
“Feeling very lucky to have been born here….Australia I mean, not hospital….but I guess both are lucky.”
