Our favourite dark comedy Wednesday is officially returning for a third season to Netflix, and while many details remain under wraps, the streaming giant and the show’s creators have already dropped some tantalising clues about what’s ahead.
Following razor-witted Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega), the series is poised to return to the shadowy world of Nevermore Academy, where psychic visions, secrets and supernatural intrigue come together.
As Wednesday wades deeper into mysteries with consequences, her world is set to grow darker, stranger and even more entwined with her family’s legacy.
Here’s what we know so far.

When does Wednesday season 3 come out?
In July 2025, Netflix confirmed that Wednesday had been renewed for Season 3, even before Season 2 hit the screens.
As of now, there is no official premiere date for Season 3, but in saying that, production is expected to begin in the first half of 2026.
Given the show’s typical production and post-production timeline, many fan-sites are estimating Wednesday season 3 will likely be released between June and August 2027.

Who is in the cast of Wednesday season 3?
The core cast from previous seasons is expected to return, including Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams, along with the ensemble from Nevermore Academy and the extended Addams family including Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams.
On November 25, Netflix announced the biggest new addition to the cast: Eva Green will join Season 3 in the role of Aunt Ophelia, Morticia’s long-missing sister, whose reappearance was teased in the dramatic Season 2 finale.
Showrunners Al Gough and Miles Millar described Green’s “elegant, haunting and beautifully unpredictable” presence as the perfect fit for the enigmatic Ophelia. In her own statement, Green said she can’t wait to bring her “own touch of cuckoo-ness” to the Addams family.

What can we expect in Wednesday season 3?
Based on what the creators have said thus far and hints dropped at the end of Season 2, Season 3 will dive deeper into the Addams family’s dark history. The season will likely expand the worlds of Nevermore Academy and the tangled legacy of the Addams clan.
Central to the new season will be the return of Aunt Ophelia, whose disappearance and mysterious reappearance provide a major cliffhanger for the show’s future. Her psychic powers mirror Wednesday’s own abilities, and her arrival is expected to “hit this family like a bomb.”

Showrunners have teased that Season 3 will reveal “more Addams family members and family secrets,” suggesting that the mythology of the series will grow even richer.
“Our goal for Season 3 is the same as it is for every season: to make it the best season of Wednesday we possibly can,” Al Gough told Tudum. “We want to continue digging deeper into our characters while expanding the world of Nevermore and Wednesday.”
Miles Millar adds, “We will be seeing more Addams family members and learning more family secrets in Season 3!”
