Benedict Bridgerton fans have been in their element since the first part of Bridgerton Season 4 was released.

The season walks us through all the usual romance and chivalry the Ton has to offer, while also showing the challenges of falling in love with the ‘wrong’ person.

The storyline, which features Aussie’s very own Yerin Ha as the leading lady, is a bit of a twist on Cinderella and we’re here for it.

But, with all of us on the edge of our seats, there is one question on our lips: When is Part 2 of Bridgerton coming out?

Here’s everything we know:

What happened in Bridgerton Part 1 Season 4?

The first half of season 4 ends with Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) kissing Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha) in the stairwell of the servant’s quarters of Bridgerton House.

And, although the pair have kissed throughout the series, this time is different as Benedict pleads with Sophie “be my mistress.”

Those are not words that any woman wants to hear, but certainly for Sophie who has suffered through life due to her ‘illegitimacy’.

Offering some insight into Sophie’s mindset, Bridgerton showrunner Jess Brownell said: “For Sophie, the idea of being a mistress is the worst possible thing she could be asked”.

“As we learn in Part 1, Sophie is the product of a proposition like Benedict’s in Regency-era London. Sophie’s father was a lord and her mother was a maid turned mistress – an arrangement that left Sophie without status or security after their deaths. Instead, Sophie was put under the thumb of her punishing stepmother, Araminta (Katie Leung),” she explained.

And, although Benedict feels he has given Sophie the best offer he can (a life where she will be looked after and one where they can be together), it is impossible for her to say yes.

Fleeing the scene after the hurtful question, Sophie runs down the stairs to join her friends at the pub in a rare night off work.
