Pretty Little Liars has become the next series to get rebooted, with brand new show Original Sin dropping very soon to continue the story we first saw in the fictional town of Rosewood in 2010.
It’s been five years since we said goodbye to Alison, Emily, Aria, Spencer, and Hannah, but ever since the finale, we knew that the story of A had to continue.
And continue it did, with two spin-off series, both lasting just a season each. We have a little more hope with Original Sin, though, given it has a new team of producers and writers, and is set to appear in a different place – and potentially a different timeline – to the original.
We’re also expecting a bit more horror, with the new trailer itself looking super scary, as a creepy and foreboding assailant – who likes to pop up and disappear too fast for our liking – seems to plot the death of the five new liars. Take a look above to see for yourself, and then scroll on for everything we know about Original Sin.

What is Original Sin about?
The most we know about the show has come from the trailer, which was released just a few weeks prior to the show itself.
The events of the series is inspired by a series of tragic events that happened 20 years earlier. Now, in the present day, a ‘disparate group of teen girls’ will find themselves tormented by a faceless assailant, or A, and made to pay for the sins of their mothers, as well as their own.
This iteration of PLL is said to be more horror-tinged than the others, meaning it might be leaving its soapie roots behind.
And with writers and executive producers from Riverdale and The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina on board, we’re expecting big things.

Who stars in Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin?
The young cast is mostly unknown, but there is a face or two we’ve seen before.
All grown up now, Bailee Madison will star as Imogen, a teen mother, and the ‘leader’ of the new group of girls being tormented by A. Now 22, Bailee made a name for herself starring in Bridge to Terabithia as a young girl, and later on in the romantic comedy Just Go With It.
She’ll be joined by Chandler Kinney in the role of Tabby, Maia Reficco in the role of Noa, Zaria as Faran, and Malia Pyles as Minnie.
The recurring cast will feature Mallory Bechtel as Karen, Carson Rowland as Chip, and Jordan Gonzalez as transgender character Ash.

Where does Original Sin fit in with the original Pretty Little Liars?
Just like the Marvel Cinematic Universe (well, kind of), the Pretty Little Liars franchise has connections weaved through its various shows.
But while the original ran for seven series, the first two spin-offs, Ravenswood and Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists, only made it through a season each.
This time, the series follows another set of teenage girls in the fictional town of Millwood, but it’s been confirmed that references to the town from the first show, Rosewood, are littered throughout.
We’re yet to see any overlapping actors, but given the synopsis so far hints at intergenerational intrigue, we might even find these new characters are the daughters of those we’ve come to know and love.
