Teal Tuesdays? More like Tears Tuesdays. Okay, that was a terrible excuse for a joke, but the point remains: Wentworth fans were emotional wrecks when they said farewell to the prison drama after nine incredible seasons.
With seven TV WEEK Logie Awards under its belt and an impressive global fanbase, Wentworth has been one of the best dramas on Australian screens since 2013. And its ending left a major gap in our weekly watch-list.
The good news for fans, however, is that production on Wentworth: Halfway Home is currently underway in Melbourne.
What is Wentworth: Halfway Home about?
Set in the freedom-adjacent world made famous by the iconic series Wentworth, the new series takes the story beyond the prison walls and into a new world of redemption and survival.
“Freshly paroled, Boomer arrives at Sal’s Halfway House determined to get custody of her daughter and build a life for them both. But when a body turns up, who can she trust in a home full of ex-cons? Getting out of prison was hard, but staying out may prove impossible,” reads the synopsis.
Returning fan-favourites Susan ‘Boomer’ Jenkins (Katrina Milosevic), Franky Doyle (Nicole da Silva) and Lou Kelly (Kate Box) lead an ensemble cast alongside a compelling new generation of characters.
In light of the news, streaming service BINGE is inviting you to catch up on all nine seasons, with all episodes of Wentworth available to watch right now.
For hardcore fans who need their weekly Wentworth fix, this means the chance to reunite with old favourites like Bea (Danielle Cormack), Doreen (Shareena Clanton) and Franky.
Not to mention Boomer, Liz (Celia Ireland), Allie (Kate Jenkinson), Vera (Kate Atkinson), Will (Robbie Magasiva), Jake (Bernard Curry) and Joan ‘The Freak’ Ferguson (Pamela Rabe).
Where to watch Wentworth in Australia
You can stream every season of Wentworth now on BINGE and FOXTEL, ahead of the premiere of Wentworth: Halfway Home exclusively on BINGE and FOXTEL in late 2026.
