It’s night four of Australian Idol. And competition is getting fierce as spots in the Top 50 start to fill up.
For OG Idol watchers, the first Australian season finished with fierce competition. While Guy Sebastian ultimately took the crown in 2003, the season’s runner up, Shannon Noll, was a close contender. While Nollsie continued on to have a flourishing career, many fans have argued that he also deserved the win.
Tonight, however, another Noll family member has come to take back the crown. Shannon Noll’s niece, Tessa Noll, appeared on Australian Idol 2023 to audition for the judges in New South Wales.

Who is Tessa Noll?
Tessa Noll is the niece of Australian singing legend, Shannon Noll. She is 24 years old and works as an Administrative Clerk in Wollongong. Like Shannon, she grew up in Condobolin.
Shannon’s words of advice
Having been in the same position 20 years ago, Shannon had some words of advice for his niece before her big audition.
“Shannon knows I’m here. We messaged about it and I was like ‘Oh, I’m a bit nervous’ and he was just like, you know, ‘It was the best time in my life and so much fun. You’ll regret it if you don’t do it’,” Tessa said.
Did Tessa Noll get into the Top 50?
Unfortunately, Tessa was not able to make it into Australian Idol’s Top 50 amongst fierce competition and a bout of nerves.
With singing running in her veins, however, we definitely have our fingers crossed for another year!
