Well, hello there. Who are you? Based on your interest in this article we’d say a YOU fan. Probably Australian. With a potential crush on Penn Badgley… and a desperate need to know when your favourite, albeit creepy, show is releasing its fourth season. Yes, we know…. you.

What is the plot of YOU season four?

As is the bread and butter for the YOU franchise, season four of the show sees Joe in a completely different environment than the preceding seasons.

“I’m not the loveable bookstore manager in New York. Or the shop clerk in LA, or the doting husband in the suburbs. No, not anymore,” Joe says in a monologue in a teaser trailer.

“Allow me to introduce myself. I’ve gone through a bit of refinement upon crossing the pond. And living in London has allowed me to bury the past, if you will.

“Gone are the days of unrequited love and longing. No, this time around I’m focusing on academia and instruction while keeping my typical extracurricular activities strictly professional.

To accompany his new dark-academia look (emphasis on dark), Joe has grown out his black locks as well as an impressive beard.

“One must make time to exchange ideas with like-minded colleagues. Unfortunately with friends in high places, there usually come others attempting to climb that social ladder.

“Some may end up falling, or shall I say “pushed”, to their social death.

“The question is… by whom?”

Um, a pretty easy question if you ask us.

A trailer for part one, released on January 10, gave us a few more hints about what the new season is all about… and for once it seems Joe is the one who is scared.

The hunted might now become the hunted as a murderer dubbed the “Eat The Rich” killer targets Joe and his group – a twist we were *not* expecting.

Who is starring in YOU season four?

Gossip Girl hottie Penn Badgley will, of course, return as Joe Goldberg (though let’s be real, probably with a different alias).

Victoria Pedretti will, sadly, not be reprising her role as Love – which shouldn’t come as a shock considering how season three ended.

But we are expected to see some new faces, including: Tati Gabrielle as Marienne Bellamy, Lukas Gage as Adam, Charlotte Ritchie as Kate, Tilly Keeper as Lady Phoebe, Amy-Leigh Hickman as Nadia, and Ed Speleers as Rhys.

In December 2022, Netflix even dropped a slew of promo photos (Merry Christmas, indeed) which featured the new line-up.

“New city, new identity, new crew. Let’s dig into Joe’s new subjects, shall we? 🇬🇧,” the caption read. “They’re a cut above the rest. 🔪.”

When is YOU season four coming to Netflix Australia?

This time around, YOU is being split into two parts.

The first part is due to hit Netflix on February 9th, and the second part on March 9th. Bear in mind that might be London time, which is hours behind depending on where you live in Australia.

Stay tuned as we keep you updated. We know you will, because we know… you.
